I was a career foreign exchange trader. Started to think about the Real Estate industry in 2010, and finally stepped in 2013. I read market reports for a living for 20 odd years, and the macro part stays with me despite agency work being mostly on-the-ground micro economy.
However, I've found that been too micro can miss the larger picture of trying to create a home out of a house. And been too macro can make people overly anxious about short-term swings in prices when making a 30-40 year decision.
It is my hope that we are all just trying to build a home that should generate years and years of happiness that will be hard to quantify. And as long as you choose the really good ones, it should help mitigate anxiety over prices. I know this will not help me generate a lot of sale (since good homes are limited in supply), but it is my hope that if our paths cross again in 10-20 years, you will still be happy with your decision..
